The book is written in the genre of a novel-hypothesis. As a basis, the legends about the Reverend Serafim of Sarov were used, along with posthumous stories about him by his contemporaries. “Fiery” is not a historical reconstruction, but rather reflections on the spiritual experience of the Sarov wonder-worker, filtered through the prism of the spiritual worldview of a contemporary Russian writer. The life of the Reverend, presented for a modern reader, may become for someone the beginning of a path toward his or her own holiness. The book is intended first of all for the younger generation… and for everyone who has not stopped being able to dream and believe.
