Letters of a Svyatogorets about the Holy Mount Athos. Volume 2

“Letters of the Hesychast of the Holy Mountain to his friends about the Holy Mount of Athos” is one of the most well-known and widely read books about Athos. Its author is the Russian monk of Athos, Hieromonk Sergius (Vesnin), in the schema named Seraphim, who lived and wrote in the 19th century. The first edition was published in 1849 and has since been reissued many times, always drawing attention and earning a broad response. The book describes the Athonite way of life and everyday life in great detail; it includes traditions and accounts of miracles, manifestations of icons, and the saints’ wonders.

In the second audio-book volume, the Hesychast tells about various kinds of ascetic practice on Athos, as well as about his pilgrimage to Palestine and about celebrating Easter in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
