The main characters of Krieger’s fairy tales are familiar to us from childhood—so close and dear: little bunnies and teddy bears. There are many examples of fairy tales with these protagonists. For example, Winnie-the-Pooh—the bear—and one of his friends is Rabbit); golden fish (with Krieger—“About the Bear, the Bunny, and the Golden Fish”); and also an indispensable element of many magical fairy tales: the flying carpet (“About how the Bear and the Bunny were in Paris”). And Krieger’s language takes us back to that happy time when our mothers and grandmothers read us magical stories at bedtime.
