With rare exceptions—individual stories and publications—almost all of Шолом-Алейхем’s works were written in Yiddish. He gained worldwide fame through the epistolary novella "Zlokhlesn Menakhem-Mendla" (“The Misadventures of Menakhem-Mendl”), constructed as a correspondence between an unlucky businessman and his wife, Shayna-Sheyndel. Concerning each of his latest “great” ventures, he writes to her in letters, and in reply he receives a torrent of threats and curses. In addition to "Zlokhlesn Menakhem-Mendla" (“The Misadventures of Menakhem-Mendl”), this audiobook also presents an audio version of the author’s "Pestrye rasskazy" (“Pestrye Stories”).
