First Meeting, Last Meeting

At first glance, the idea of this novella seems simple and not complicated: a soldier returning from the front meets something… But everything depends on how it’s written! And here Bushkov demonstrates real mastery. A vivid, colorful language, portraits of the characters (even the minor ones) are drawn vividly and convincingly. And suddenly the problem that appears before them stops being private and local. And the words “honor” and “courage” regain their original meaning.
