In winter 1959, in the mountains of the Northern Urals, nine young people die under mysterious circumstances. The investigation that began a few months later was closed, and the case materials are classified in the KGB archives.
This incident remained a mystery—attempts were made to explain it through the action of natural forces, mystical forces, and supernatural forces. The hero of the story, journalist Viktor Strugatsky, fifty years after the tragedy, by the will of fate finds himself at the Djatlov Pass and goes on the trail of the group that died—along with his expedition.
