The Pass

A mystical tale by Denis Burmistrov, “The Pass,” is a mysterious story about a tourist group that decides to conquer the cursed height. Unpleasant legends were told about this pass. Local residents avoided it, preferring a longer detour. But what should you do if you’ve decided to cross it anyway? What if you’re forced to spend the night there?

The story was written for a contest-marathon in the “Author’s Style” category; it is the first of three stories connected by a single thread. The other two are “Set Pli skin” and “Four Horsemen,” somewhere nearby. In any case, the tales can be read as independent works.
