Froth on the Daydream

“Foam of Days” is the most famous novel by the French writer Boris Vian. At the center of the narrative is the story of two lovers, Colin and Chloe. Perhaps it is one of the most beautiful and poignant love stories. A symbolic book, mystical—once you set it down after reading, you keep remembering what world you’re in. The novel introduces a secondary satirical character, “the philosopher of the hopelessness of existence” Jean-Sol Partre, parodying Jean-Paul Sartre.
