The events of this novel take place in modern times. In an elite country cottage settlement, the owner of her home strangely disappears from her own house. She is a young woman, a graduate of an architecture university. Her father, a high-ranking official, doesn’t have much hope for the local police. He hires the most expensive lawyer from the capital to investigate.

When the lawyer realizes the case has reached a dead end, he turns to his recent acquaintance, Lana.

Lana Belova is an invalid woman who, thanks to her curiosity, her love of detective stories, and unconventional logical thinking, has already solved two crimes half a year ago.
