Jay lives in a bastion—in the Indian slums of an unnamed city—with his parents and sister. Their life is wrapped in endless smog, poverty, and hardships, but Jay doesn’t give up, and like any boy, he always manages to find adventures. When children begin to mysteriously disappear in the bastion, Jay and his friends decide to conduct their own investigation—after all, the police are doing nothing, and he has watched so many detective films that no one can handle this better than him. Jay, Pari, and Faiz interview witnesses, run around the market, and make guesses. But as the smog thickens, winter takes hold, the list of missing grows, and the atmosphere changes. Could it be that Jay himself will fall into a trap—and that the jinn will take him forever?
