Stella’s life changes dramatically when, after her mother’s death, she receives an unusual inheritance—a note with the words “Go to Paris” and an one-way airline ticket. Stella doesn’t like changing her familiar way of life, but she still decides to fulfill her mother’s last wishes. In Paris she rarely leaves the hotel and avoids new acquaintances, but one day, while browsing a vintage clothing store, she makes an incredible choice—for the first time in her life, yielding to the voice of feeling rather than reason: she buys a dress she likes, paying with all the money she has. Without realizing that from now on her life will never be the same.
