This audiobook consists of three independent narratives.
The first novella “The Greka Rode” is a rather interesting life situation—one that could happen in anyone’s life. Yegor Grekov, Greka, by his fortieth year has achieved everything a person can dream of: a solid position, appropriate material privileges, the love of two women at once, each of whom dreams of marrying him. Life has succeeded! But the moment he thinks so, fate immediately gives him a slap in the face: he must do an act, sacrifice not everything, but many things. The test is no easy one. Will Grekov have enough courage?
In the second novella “To Love the Queen,” the confrontation between the camp counselor, the student Fedor Sedykh, and Oleg Simakov, nicknamed Angel, is described simply like a report from the scene of events. Only the wholeness of Fedor’s character, his inner core, his upbringing, and everything he absorbed in his short life—helped him win, but at what cost...
The third novella is called “Let Go of Who You Love.” This is a direct blow to the solar plexus. What is it like—to meet a loved one on the threshold of death?
