A famous writer at the peak of his career suddenly stops writing. For five years, not a single new book comes from his pen. Despite worldwide success, no one has ever seen the popular author in person. His interests have always been represented everywhere and by a mysterious literary agent at least as enigmatic. There was a time when rumors circulated in bohemian circles that it was the same person. A freelance employee of a major publishing house—a devoted fan of the mysterious writer—gets a chance to find out how true these speculations are. But to get into the writer’s home as a personal assistant, the girl, along with other candidates, will have to pass a small test: to write a story that begins with the words, “Stop me, or everything will repeat.”
