Inverted World

Our hero has grown out of his apprenticeship. And now comes his first trip beyond the City—the strange bulky structure that moves on wheels. The tracks are assembled in front and removed behind by the special Guild. Our hero is from another guild—the Scouts of the Future. He must scout a path for the City, but for his “baptism” he has to go to the “past,” to places where the City has just passed.

And then it turns out that the “past” and “future” are not just directions—they are indeed Past and Future relative to the time in which the City is located. And when you move into the past, very strange and terrifying things begin to happen. It takes a lot for our hero to return to the familiar City under his native hyperbolic sun…
