“Olivia Latham” is the third novel by E. L. Voynich. In this novel, her impressions of her time in Russia in 1887–1889 are reflected. Her impressions of the Karayulov family—family of the populists (Narodnaya Volya) Vasily and Nikolai Karaulov—formed the basis for the portrayal of the Damarov family. In Russian, “Olivia Latham” was first published in 1906 in translation by A. N. Annenskaya with significant cuts, and was fully printed only in 1958.
