At the heart of the plot is the unity of space: all the events unfold in a regional clinical hospital. The main character finds himself there in different roles—sometimes as a medical institute student, sometimes as a patient. Most of his stories are told with humor, but the atmosphere of the place inevitably makes its own adjustments: illness and death are always nearby. And, of course, love—where would the student be without it?
