Description

In 1913, in the Russian Empire, young Shurochka Alexeyeva from Petersburg, despite her father’s prohibitions, pursues an acting career. Captivated by director Grigory Rakhmanov, she joins his theatre troupe on a tour around the country. But soon it becomes clear that Rakhmanov is not only staging plays—he also conducts risky experiments on the actors. Shurochka will have to endure not only these dangerous trials, but also go through shamanic forests, a train infected with typhus, survive the horrors of World War I and the revolution, and adapt to the new Soviet reality.
