The Pichugin family manages to buy a large two-story house at a bargain price in a charming village called Blyakhovka. They still don’t know what kind of not-boring rest in the lap of nature awaits them. Alex Brody, a descendant of Russian emigrants, came from England to find a precious statuette depicting his great-great-grandmother Elena. “Elena the Beautiful” disappeared during the Civil War, and her trail leads to Blyakhovka.
Soon, the search for the treasure involves not only the whole frantic Pichugin family, but also their friends, friends of their friends, archaeologists—along with the documentless Englishmen—and also some unclear criminal organizations. And only the House looks indulgently at all this commotion, tossing one mystery after another.
