Lights on the Elbe

In 1886, the shipping family business of the Karstens is thriving, but within the family passions and secrets hide—things that could undermine its success. During the christening of a new ship, Lily Karsten meets Johan Bolton, a man from a poor family. He opens to her a world of hard labor and struggle that she had never known. Lily begins to realize that her family’s well-being depends on the work of people like him. Soon she becomes part of the game for the sake of the family business.
