The book has everything that can win a reader’s heart forever—cosmic adventure and the triumph of science; a Robinsonade; strangers and contact; a dangerous journey; self-discovery; friendship and loyalty; a mystery and its solution. A simple, seemingly ordinary story.

The journey from point “A” to point “B” of two beings. So different physically, united by one misfortune: both survived an accident, and both simply need to live through it. The main idea is clearly traced: the unknown must be understood, not destroyed.

A creature who lives by different principles is not necessarily your antipode. It may very well become your continuation.

Maybe, against the backdrop of today’s shooters and scare-fests, this book seems bland and overly naive—but I think the theme of first contact, friendship, and adventure deserves a place of honor on a bookshelf or in your audio collection.
