Travel essays “One-Story America” are the last work by I. Ilf and E. Petrov, written by them in 1936. The writers traveled across the country—from the Atlantic to the Pacific and back—and created a vivid portrait of America and Americans filled with brilliant humor. The essays were translated into many languages around the world, but in Soviet Russia they were published only twenty years after they were written. In addition to “One-Story America,” the book includes stories from 1932–1936.
