Vasily Petrovich Rozhlyakov (1921–1991) was a Russian Soviet writer.
In 1939 he enrolled in MEPhI. In 1941 he went to the front. After the war he continued his studies and graduated from the Philology Faculty of Moscow State University in 1950. Party member since 1945. In 1953 he defended a PhD dissertation on the topic “Soviet post-war sketch.” Member of the board of the SP RSFSR (1975–1990).
He became well known for the story “One of Us” (1962), written in line with the military prose of the 1960s. In the characters, one can recognize poets who died in the war: Pavel Kogan, Mikhail Kulchitsky, Nikolay Mayorov—and the author himself states who served as the prototypes. The novels “The Last War” and “Morning” are plot-connected with this story.
