Before the revolution, Arkady Koshko held the position of head of detective police in Moscow, and later led the “detective department” in the Russian Empire. In emigration, he wrote memoirs about his life. As an educated man with literary talent, Koshko created entertaining detective stories. The memoirs of an old Russian detective are still read with undiminished interest today.
