Sigmund Freud (1856–1939) is the famous physician-psychiatrist and the creator of psychoanalysis, a name even those who have never read his works know well. At one time, Freud’s idea about the influence of sexual instinct on the psyche and the development of human society produced the effect of a bomb going off. The theory of the unconscious that affects all our actions and deeds, and of sexual desire as the main driving force of both an individual and society as a whole, is still a subject of debate in the scientific world—but it’s impossible to deny that Freud’s teachings on psychoanalysis made an invaluable contribution to the development of world psychology. The collection includes works reflecting the broad range of the author’s interests: "The Motive of Choice of the Larcenous Larder," "On the Acquisition of Fire," "Stories of Fairy Tales in Dreams," "The Neurosis of the Devil in the Seventeenth Century," and others.
