Description
Animals are a separate topic in literature. Abramov’s story is not just about horses and their hard lives—it raises the question of trust between animals and people. A human is wiser than an animal, and that imposes responsibility.

The hero of Abramov’s story loves horses. He feeds them and sincerely sympathizes with their difficult lives. But at some point, something else is required from him—not just pity and tasty feed. The horses look to this man for support, comfort, and hope. They want to hear that their hard life is not an unchangeable fate, only a dark streak that will certainly pass; that there were times when people loved horses and were ready to share with them the last piece of bread. And perhaps such times will come again… But Abramov’s hero is silent. Somehow, he does not give the horses that desired hope. And when he leaves, he realizes that there is no longer any trust between the horses and him.

In life, situations often arise when you have to make a choice. Trust is easy to destroy, but keeping it is not as difficult. You just need to be more sensitive, attentive, and kind.
