Letters to Lucilius

Description
Lucius Annaeus Seneca was the greatest Roman philosopher and the first representative of Stoicism in the ancient world. The ancient Greek thinker Posidonius played a special role in shaping the philosopher’s views. In turn, Seneca’s moral stance and system of values strongly influenced his contemporaries and later generations.

Seneca’s works are always an open and comprehensive “code of honor.” Any work by the famous philosopher reveals a detailed picture of his philosophy. Seneca explains, argues, and invites the reader to dialogue. His works raise questions that touch on the categories of life and death, happiness and grief, philosophy and mathematics: what should be the best sign of a balanced mind? How should one live so as not to lose heart? What does philosophy give a person? What is the difference between philosophy and mathematics? What brings us the greatest misfortunes? How can you fix your life?
