The New Jules Verne

The poem “NEW JULES VERNE” was written by the poet in 1976. However, it was published a decade later. In 1987 the publishing house released a large collection of Brodsky’s poems, “URANIA,” and this work was included in it.

In that same 1987, the poet, playwright, translator, and essayist Joseph Brodsky received the Nobel Prize in Literature “for comprehensive work imbued with clarity of thought and poetic intensity.”
