Vera Isaakovna Tchaikovskaya is an art critic, art historian, and prose writer. Candidate of Philosophical Sciences. Leading researcher at the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts.
Born in Moscow into a family of clerks.
Author of books on Russian fine art of the 20th century: “To Surprise Paris. Moscow Vernissages.” M., “Znanie,” 1999. Published as a literary and art critic in “LG” and in the journals “LO” (e.g., 1988, No. 1; 1989, Nos. 8, 9), “Znamya,” and author of several art-historical monographs, including the books “Tyshler. An Obedient Adult,” M., “Molodaya gvardiya” (ZhZL), “On the History of Russian Art. A Jewish Note,” M., “Tri kvadrata.”
She also publishes prose: “A Case from Practical Training.” Short story. — “DN,” 1998, No. 1; “A Student, or In the Vicinity of Paradise.” Provincial novella. – “DN,” 1999, No. 12; “Attic Passions.” – “Neva,” 2000, No. 3. Articles by Tchaikovskaya have been translated into German, Finnish, and Swedish.

Awarded the medal “In Memory of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow.”
