A monomolecular filament is a filament made of synthetic resin consisting of a single molecular chain. A monomolecular filament has all the properties of a molecular bond, so that one filament is stronger than a multi-strand steel cable one inch thick.
The filament molecule has an extremely complex structure, and yet several hundred twisted filaments will be thinner than one micron. The cutting edge of the blade of the thinnest surgical instrument currently produced has a thickness of several microns. And what if a mad scientist decided to use these filaments as a murder weapon?
