Book No. 1 on business negotiations.
Chris Voss is one of the strongest modern specialists in negotiations in extreme situations. He spent 24 years in the FBI, participating in hostage-release negotiations around the world. Later, Voss created and headed the consulting group “Black Swan,” which trains tough negotiation strategies for Fortune 500 companies.
On the pages of the book, the author notes that there is almost no fundamental difference between a terrorist holding hostages and a realtor who, at any cost, tries to lower the price of your house: the techniques that work with the first also work just as effectively with the second. The only difference is this—when saving people, you can’t agree to “partial success,” when, for example, seven out of ten are freed. There you have to go all the way and achieve the maximum result under any circumstances. That’s exactly what the book “Negotiating Without Compromise” is about.
