Description
In the middle of the twenty-first century, cloning a human becomes morally acceptable.

The first highly developed country launches a project to create human duplicates. At the initial stage, only extremely wealthy people can afford clones. Soon, organ transplants in the name of saving lives, extending youth, or simply out of whim stop being something problematic—yet this privilege remains available only to the elite.

The world community wavers between a desire to follow one country’s example and the realization that the experiment is morally unacceptable. At the turning point, as the decision to create clones worldwide is being made, the first country’s experiment rapidly moves into a stage of stagnation.

Against this backdrop, clone number eleven thousand one hundred and eleven sets off on a path to find answers to questions that different people answer differently: is it allowed for a human being to interfere with the eternal course of nature in such a crude way? what could the consequences be? do clones have souls? what are clones capable of when it comes to their relationship with their creators? who is worse: a clone or a person? can there be unconditional forgiveness—or only vengeance worthy of the wrongdoing can stop it all? is it possible to win a game without rules? and what matters more: kindness or justice?
