Today, few remember that besides the famous “Fidelity to the Motherland,” I.N. Kozhedub was also the author of four other books. Moreover, the early editions of his memoirs, published while Stalin was still alive, differ significantly from the later texts, where not only all references to the Leader (a common practice after the “exposure of the cult of personality”) were removed, but entire chapters as well.
In this edition, the original text of the great pilot’s memoirs is printed in full, without censor distortions, additions, or omissions.
