The book is based on the life and work of one of Stalin’s closest associates, a brilliant orator and the party’s favorite—Sergei Mironovich Kirov, whose tragic death added to the list of the century’s mysteries.
Kirov was assassinated on December 1, 1934. Seventy years after the shot at Smolny, the circumstances of Sergei Mironovich’s death were, it seemed, studied in every detail. According to the version that today is officially accepted, it turns out that Nikolaev was taking revenge on Kirov for personal reasons. However, there is no clear answer to the question of exactly why. Moreover, even in the life of the leader himself there still remain “blank spots.”
