Wei Wu Wei (Terence Gray) is a riddle-like figure: an Irish aristocrat, scholar and writer, historian and Egyptologist, theater director and producer, expert in wines and racehorses, traveler and philosopher. His brilliant exposition of the non-dual essence of Buddhism, Daoism, Advaita, and Christianity is considered one of the best. For much of his life he wished to remain anonymous (and managed to do so), hiding behind masks and pseudonyms.
“Practicing Without Pretending” is Wei Wu Wei’s last book. It offers pointers to our true nature in the form of dialogues involving ordinary and extraordinary animals. The reader can recognize themselves in these brief and sometimes amusing sketches, and benefit from what is revealed to them.
