The Hundred Years’ War was raging between two kingdoms—France and England. The fighting took place mainly on French soil, where the English crown held extensive territories. Most importantly, she raised the morale of the French and gave them faith in victory over the invaders. This was the legendary Maid of Orléans named Joan d'Arc.
