Daphne du Maurier’s collection “Not Sooner Than Midnight” was published in 1971 and contains five astonishing novellas, each presenting a unique story. The best-known of them, “Don’t Look Back,” served as the basis for Nicholas Roeg’s mystical thriller “Don’t Look Now,” starring Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie in the leading roles. All the stories in the collection feature an original and captivating style.
