Based on sociological analysis and statistical data, this book examines the social, moral, and personal aspects of alcohol and drunkenness, alcoholism, and drug use among young people. Particular attention is paid to social and socio-psychological patterns in how children, adolescents, and youth develop a particular attitude toward alcohol and drugs, as well as to the complex issues of anti-alcohol and anti-drug upbringing, and the roles and positions of parents, school, and the public in solving and preventing drinking problems of young men and women as they grow up.
