The book tells the story of post-Soviet pop music through 169 hits that defined their era. Each chapter is devoted to one song. All chapters are structured the same way: an editor’s description of the song, explaining the context of its emergence and its phenomenon, and memories by its creators and/or performers in the form of a monologue or an interview.
The songs are arranged by year. Of course, you can read the book from any point. However, if you read the chapters consecutively, you can discover a kind of conceptual arc: several recurring characters, ideas, and plots.
Age rating — 18+ (contains profanity in homeopathic doses). The book also mentions a certain number of foreign agents; the exact count in the memoirs depends on the listening date.
