All girls believe in the Prince Charming. Then they grow up and understand that princes exist only in fairy tales. But Vasilisa, whom cruel classmates teased as “Perina,” knew for sure that princes exist. At least, her Prince was waiting for her—and would certainly find her and marry her, because he promised: when she grows up, he will definitely find her.
This Prince didn’t have a white horse, a white cloak, or any other attributes of a fairy-tale hero. But the guy in a sports tank top was so charming and spoke so confidently that Vasilisa believed him.
Years passed. Her friends got married, had children, fell in love and broke up—while Vasilisa simply lived calmly, without doubting that every day she lived was another step toward him.
