This book is a candid diary of a singer, in which she honestly tells the side of her life that is hidden from the spotlights and the lenses of TV cameras. Her husband leaving the family forced Jennifer to think about many things, to remember her poor life with her parents and sisters, her dance training, past marriages and relationships. She came to the conclusion that she lacked self-respect—when she was a child, she always tried to be good to earn her parents’ love. Later, in relationships with men, Jennifer dissolved into her partner, always dependent on him. In her singing and acting career, managers always helped her, while in her personal life she acted out of fear and on her own risk, not always understanding correctly how and what needs to be done. It was the unselfish, true love of her children (hence the title of the book) that made her stop and reflect on her life—and Jennifer understood that she deserves better.
