According to statistics, Dutch children are the happiest in the world. It’s in this country that the author of the book Nelly Litvak lives and raises two girls. Being a successful professional, she nonetheless considers one of her main achievements to be her good relationship with her older daughter. Psychologists view trusting relationships within a family as a starting point for the favorable formation of a person. Observing the educational successes and failures of parents and teachers, the family and school arrangements of several generations in Russia and in Holland, comparing traditions of education and upbringing, Nelly Litvak decided to systematize her own methods and accumulated experience and share them with others. That’s how this wise, cheerful, and useful book came to be—telling about the problems parents of many teenagers face, how to solve them, and most of all, why communicating with teenagers is interesting and fun—and how to do it.
