On the Edge of the Oecumene

A young Greek sculptor is sent to Crete—to learn the island’s ancient art and rites. And as a result, he becomes… the hereditary slave of the Egyptian pharaoh. But just as he has almost buried hope of regaining his homeland and freedom, he receives one desperate chance to break free. And, oddly enough, it is the very ancient art of Crete—at which he nevertheless manages to learn—that can help him with this.
