Lev Vygotsky is a classic of Russian psychology. He was the first to study higher psychological functions and created the concept of “the new person.”
“Thinking and Speech” is a posthumous collection of Vygotsky’s works, exploring the causes of the crisis in psychology that emerged at the beginning of the last century. L.S. Vygotsky discovered that existing concepts of the development of the psyche are built on an erroneous approach, which he called naturalistic. Vygotsky opposed this viewpoint with his own cultural-historical concept of psyche development.
