The book introduces the reader to early 20th-century Russian science fiction. It features works by A. Kuprin, a classic of fiction, and the long-muted writer-contactee V. Kryzhanovskaya; the military writer A. Bezhetsky, better known as a scholar of ethnography and religious studies V. Bogoraz (Tan); and others. The volume ends with an excerpt from the fundamental work “The Philosophy of the Common Cause” by one of Russia’s most original philosophers—the “cosmist” N. Fedorov.
