Description
Mounside is a small port town in the state of Maine, where most of the residents are not human. Among ordinary mortals, there live those who have frightened them since ancient times at night: zombies and ghosts, werewolves, vampires, magicians, elves, and demons. Iveyne Lovstain must continue the family tradition: on her coming-of-age day, together with the supreme demon Kavi, she must begin ruling in Mounside, or the town will vanish from the face of the earth. Returning after six years of wandering, Iveyne realizes that the city has changed a lot in her absence. Everyone in Mounside’s magical population wants her dead. People disappear for unknown reasons. And Kavi—the demon who raised her—doesn’t remember Iveyne at all, nor the existence of the magical part of Mounside. Now, to fulfill her purpose, Iveyne can rely only on herself.
