“You ran away from me!” Amir growls, looming over me like a storm cloud.
“No, I just came back home,” I claim boldly, even though fear twists my stomach.
“You owe me, beauty. His smile looks like a beast’s snarl.
“What are you talking about?” I ask, terrified, staring into the sheikh’s black eyes.
“You know what I mean!” he says, undoing the buckle of his belt.
