A novel conceived as a free-form biography of Nikola Tesla ultimately turned out, in the author’s own words, to be “a work of fiction, unburdened by biographical scrupulousness,” so the main character—the brilliant physicist—is presented under a different name.
Here is what the author himself said about his work: “...In this novel I wanted to reveal myself more as a writer. That was one of the reasons I did not leave the character’s real name. I was very troubled that Nikola Tesla, under his actual name, would appear in episodes that are... completely invented.”
