When the voice of a loved one falls silent, another can convey their feelings.
Sara strives to restore warm relations between her stepfather, who lost the ability to speak after a stroke, and his son, who can’t forget old resentments.
Sara chose a career as a nurse for a reason—she finds her calling in caring for those in need. After her stepfather Pedro lost his speech due to a stroke, Sara decided to become his voice. She travels to a small village in Brittany, where Pedro’s first wife lives, and then to Lisbon, where his eldest son Tomas— a writer—has settled. Her task is to try to reunite people who, after a painful break, stopped communicating. The cold indifference with which Tomas meets Sara—still unable to forgive his father—saddens her, but it doesn’t stop her from wanting to achieve her goal.
Will she find the right words to convey all the love the silent father feels for his son?
