Description
Nadezhda Konstantinovna Krupskaya is a Russian revolutionary, a Soviet state, party, public, and cultural figure, organizer and chief ideologist of Soviet education and communist upbringing of young people, the wife of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. The memoirs included in this collection cover the period from 1894 to 1917—from my first meeting with Vladimir Ilyich in 1894 up to the October Revolution of 1917. People often tell me that my memoirs were written very sparingly. Of course, everyone wants to know as much as possible about Ilyich, and the era described is an era of immense historical significance. It encompasses the period of the development of a mass working-class movement, the creation of a strong, principled, tested working-class party built and tempered under the harsh conditions of underground work. These were years of continuous growth of the workers’ consciousness and organization, years of desperate struggle that ended in the victory of the proletarian socialist revolution. N.K. Krupskaya
