Mrs Dalloway

One of the most refined works of 20th-century literature—“Mrs. Dalloway.” Published in 1925, the novel is considered a masterpiece of the “golden age” of English modernism and is included in the list of “100 Best Books of the 20th Century” according to Times. At the center of the plot are an older society lady preparing to receive guests, a man returning to London after a long absence, and a young veteran of World War I suffering from a “war syndrome.” However, the novel’s importance lies not only in its plot and form, but also in what it allows readers to see: not just what the characters do and say, but what they think and feel.
